Stephanie Sika
Writer
Stephanie Sika is a Colorado-based journalist, performing artist, and advocate whose work centers on community storytelling and social justice. Holding a degree in both journalism and political science, Sika has a lifelong passion for writing and a deep commitment to expressing important stories that spark meaningful dialogue.
Her creative lens is heavily informed by her background as a dancer and choreographer. Her movement practice—which blends African, Afro-fusion, hip-hop, and contemporary styles—began in college as a way to deepen her relationship with her Ghanaian heritage and support her mental well-being. This artistic journey led to professional performances with the dance collective Raw Groove, as well as appearances at the Denver Fringe Festival, the Black Arts Festival, and productions at the University of Colorado Boulder.
At the intersection of her diverse pursuits, Sika uses both written word and physical movement as powerful vehicles for advocacy, cultural preservation, and holding space for marginalized voices. Alongside her creative and journalistic endeavors, she is currently pursuing a paralegal certificate and runs her small business, Adornments.
